Big Bear In August Brings Sun & Mountain Rain

It is hot at the base of the mountain, but when you cruise up to Big Bear, you can enjoy amazing alpine weather. The days are warm so plan of cooling off in the lake. There is a great beach on the North Shore of Big Bear Lake near the dam. Afternoon thunderstorms are frequent in the summer, so get your adventures in early in the day!

Big Bear Lake is open for boating and recreational activities on the water.

As far as Big Bear weather in August, the average high temperature is 81 degrees Fahrenheit while the average low temperate is 59 degrees Fahrenheit.  The water temperature in the Lake is as warm as it gets for the year but still a cool 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
