If you are considering a California vacation this summer, plan on stopping in San Diego in August. Sunshine and adventure travelers are filling the city to take advantage of the beautiful weather. August is the warmest month in San Diego and the best time to visit if you want a warm beach vacation.

As far as San Diego weather goes for August, the average high temperature is 77 degrees Fahrenheit while the average low temperate is 67 degrees Fahrenheit.  The water temperature in the Pacific Ocean has heated up and floats around 72 degrees Fahrenheit. July and August are the two warmest months for water temperatures and you don’t need a wet suit.

A 25-mile loop, non-timed and non-competitive, ride that starts and finishes at Embarcadero Marina Park South located on San Diego Bay and ride over the Coronado Bridge.

 

Catch a Padres Baseball Game at Petco Park

April through October

Go for the home team or watch your favorite team play against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park in Downtown San Diego! The stadium is located in the Gaslamp District so plan on visiting some great bars for fun pregame and post-game entertainment!

East County San Diego is hot during the summer. Be sure to bring plenty of water with you. On most hikes in San Diego, you hike down to the water source and then have to hike uphill to get out. Take your time when hiking so you do overheat. We recommend hiking down in the afternoon and then hiking back before sunset.

The rock climbing and bouldering scene in San Diego is very big. You have a wide variety of places to climb including outdoor gorges, boulder fields, and indoor gyms. Be sure to bring your shoes and chalk bag on your next visit to San Diego!
