A small, sunstruck village on the Pacific Coastline of Mexico’s Riviera Nayarit. Sayulita is sunny just about year-round, but it’s summertime when you’ll find the city comes most to life.

Unwind With Yoga by the Beach
Sayulita is known for its prioritization of body and mind wellness. Join a yoga class on the beach or at one of the local studios to relax, rejuvenate, and connect with your body and mind. If you’re looking for a solid yoga studio, look no further than Sayulita’s first studio: Paraiso Yoga. This local favorite has been open since 2009 and has earned a reputation as one of the best studios in town.
Visit the Mercado del Pueblo
This open-air market takes place every Friday in Sayulita’s main square. Stroll the stalls selling local produce, handmade crafts, jewelry, clothing, and more. A great place to pick up unique souvenirs! The market runs from November to May and starts at 10 a.m. each Friday. There are nearly 80 vendors to choose from, so come hungry!
Zip Lining and Canopy Tours
Get your adrenaline pumping by going zip-lining or taking a canopy tour through the lush jungle surrounding Sayulita. Enjoy breathtaking views while soaring through the treetops. One of our top recommendations is Mi Chaparrita, where you can arrange activities like zip-lining, hiking, ATV rides, and horseback riding.
Snorkeling and Scuba Diving
Explore the vibrant marine life and coral reefs by going snorkeling or scuba diving. You can join a guided tour to nearby spots like the Marietas Islands, which is a protected marine reserve. A great spot to hit up is Oceano Adventure. They offer a range of diving, surfing, and snorkeling sessions in Sayulita.
Take a Day Trip to Hidden Beaches
Sayulita is surrounded by stunning beaches and secluded coves. Rent a kayak or hire a boat tour to explore hidden gems like Playa de los Muertos, Playa Carricitos, or Playa Patzcuarito. This is a great guide on how to access Sayulita’s amazing secret beaches.
Where to Eat & Drink
What better way to experience the culture of a town or city than by immersing yourself in local cuisine and nightlife? The food in Sayulita is one of our favorite reasons to visit and stay, and there’s nothing better than a cold margarita to wash down some street tacos. Rowan, one of our former volunteers, says that one of his favorite spots in town for tacos is El Metro Sayulita. If you’re a fan of tortas, this is the place for you! Other local digs include Tacos Toño, which is right next to our hostel and is the perfect spot for a late-night snack.
