Nestled into the heart of mountains, our rustic Big Bear Hostel is the perfect place to escape from the city and into a cozy, natural, and peaceful space.  The hostel sits on a beautiful hillside facing the lake at the entrance of Big Bear Village.  The great location puts you within walking distance to great hiking trails, breweries, restaurants and lake activities like boating and jet skiing.

ITH Big Bear Hostel offers cozy beds, comfortable facilities and friendly hosts who have a passion for showcasing the local culture.  The Bear Mountain Resort and Snow Summit Resort are both nearby and easily accessible.

Built in the early 1900’s for the Bank of America family, the facility has spaces for all types of travelers regardless of your itinerary to create a social, friendly and fun atmosphere.  Whether you just want to relax and take in the scenery,  get in some outdoor play, or work in peace, we’ve created a variety of amenities both inside and outside the Hostel to provide guests with an incredible experience. 

Enjoy a social family vibe with extra privacy for good measure. Choose from renting private rooms with private or shared bathrooms, or dorm style rooms for single travelers and small groups. Bring your dog as our private rooms are pet-friendly.  Inside the hostel there are fireplaces, lounge areas and a billiards table.  The exterior of the property offers hammocks, meditation areas and picnic areas perfect for relaxing under the tall pine trees or practicing yoga.

What is the weather like in Big Bear?

Big Bear offers an amazing climate consisting of four seasons! Temperatures range from around -5 degrees Celsius (15 degrees Fahrenheit) in the winter to 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) in the summer. When traveling in the winter, be sure to brings tire chains in case of snow fall.
