MIKES TACO CLUB IN OCEAN BEACH

A popular choice for the beach lovers that enjoy sitting on the dog-friendly patio and munching on fresh tacos. Get that ocean breeze, order a margarita or any other authentic Mexican drink, and try the seafood taco options, including octopus tacos! You know you want to say you’ve tried it. Mexican food at it’s finest.

OSCARS MEXICAN SEAFOOD

Get a breakfast burrito for $5, take a plunge and try some specialty tacos that combine the unexpected. If you are a vegetarian they have multiple options that are creative and tasty so you don’t need to feel left out in your daring ordering. (CHORIZO DE SOYA CON PAPA is a Soy Chorizo & Potato Served with Cheese & Avocado…yum!)

CUATROS MILPAS MEXICAN IN BARRIO LOGAN

This adorable, old-school Mexican joint has checkered tablecloths that make the retro diner decor. They are the real deal retro, being in existence since 1933. So go with it, go back in time with a glass soda, a roll of tacos (5 for $5) and see what makes this place so well-loved. Chances are you will be in line with quite a few locals who also cannot get enough of the simplicity of great mexican food.

EL INDIO MEXICAN FOOD

This fast food option has been around since 1940. Needless to say, they have it down pat how to make mouthwatering tacos and burritos. They make their tortillas and corn taquitos fresh daily. Definitely worth trying if you like casual eats that put great quality food at the top of the list of priorities. This is a San Diego Institution, so you get a little historic relevance as you munch…not a bad perk to spice up life 😉

PUESTO

Located in the Headquarters of Seaport Villiage, this one time Police Command Center has been converted into an open market space with Puesto offering a large, trendy yet relaxed area to sit and order everything from traditional carnitas to zucchini with nopales (a type of cactus) for the vegetarians. Their drinks are really fun and creative including tequila and mezcal, plus beers and wines from Valle de Guadalupe. If you are looking for a place to sit and hang with your friends for the afternoon, this is the place.
