The location is also great, close to everything and far enough so you won't get bothered by the nightlife's noise
I totally recommend staying at this Hostel, it is truly Amazing!
From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home. There's always free access to the showers and bathrooms, which is greatly appreciated. The overall cleanliness of the entire hostel is good.
The volunteers are super friendly and always willing to help with a smile, creating a very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The common areas are a huge plus. The instrument room is perfect for hanging out and meeting people. The kitchen is spacious and has large refrigerators, so there's never a lack of storage space. The whole place is also very well-ventilated, and there's plenty of room for everyone. The coffee ☕️ is delicious and uses local produce.
Definitely a highly recommended place to stay!
Sean helped me out in a big way when I had to go to hospital for a few days too. Thanks guys.
Kitchen is extremely well equipped and fridges kept clean. It was a lovely place to cook.
The sala area is also nice for working in on laptops and just hanging out very much like a co-living vibe. But the TV is hard to watch (very small and lots of sound clashes from the street and kitchen - music is on 100% of the time which after a month can be a lil irksome)
The WiFi here is NOT amazing just FYI if needing to make work calls - I sometimes was fine sometimes needed to make alternative plans.
Breakfast was an additional 100 pesos - pancakes, salsa and chips with access to eggs - but can make your own for free and then sit at the tables at the pool. Coffee served from 8:30 with coffee mate vs milk first one is free 🙂 .
Amenities - I stayed in the women’s dorm - which I recommend - as men more likely to snore and it was just a bit cheaper and nicer in there. No privacy curtains but I used my beach blanket to create one - and I slept very comfortably over the month. Only a few times woken by spring breakers vomming or late arrivals. The shower is not great - hot and cold but fine. My bed’s power outlets were fine but top bunkers had trouble with their chargers falling out.
I requested a duvet and needed it!! As cold at night.
Surf rentals are good on days that it’s 50% off 150 pesos for 3-4 hours. Otherwise 300 pesos is expensive unless planning to be out for a long time /good waves.
The best part of the hostel in my opinion was the Tuesday pot luck (free) and Thursday BBQ (50 pesos) / it was very communal and easy to make friends as a solo traveller. It was low pressure and you could contribute what you wanted. There were always activities you could partake in and the volunteers really make this place and become like a little family.
Bring cards if you can though as there packs aren’t full and sayulita is expensive 😂
Mariana and Sean have created a lovely energy here!! I will miss it.
Over all if you’re considering Sayulita I would say do your research it’s more expensive and Americanised a lot more than I was expecting and in comparison to 5 years ago. I spoke next to no Spanish here .. and it didn’t feel very Mexican after 3 months in other spots. But if you’re looking for somewhere safe and social to spend a holiday then it’s easy to get to and you’ll meet a lot of lovely Canadians and Americans 😂
The location of the hostel is great: in a quiet street, but very near the centre (3 min walking distance)
I stayed in the 10 bed female dorm. The bed was comfy and you get a huge locker.
Some days, the cleaning was not the best, I would give it 4/5 stars.
The pool area is nice, but it has a lot of potential that's not used yet. Same for the terrace.
The price for the room was rather high in comparison to other hostels I stayed in mexico.
Plenty of space to have quiet space but conversely there is commonly an opportunity to party with some guests or workers! All in all great hostel!
The staff is super friendly but it still doesn't make up for the poor condition of the hostel.
I don't recommend staying there.
One of the most notable things about this place is its excellent internet connection. Every area of the hostel has good internet, and they also offer Starlink in the common area. If you need to work remotely, you can do so with peace of mind, as this area is always very quiet.
Additionally, the hostel offers a wide variety of activities, from yoga to performances, barbecues, rooftop yoga, beach visits, and hiking. If you're looking for a place to immerse yourself in the Sayulita community, this is definitely the place where you'll feel comfortable, safe, and enjoy your stay in Mexico to the fullest, making good friends along the way. I can't wait to go back!
We booked the room with a balcony, comfortable bed, spacious bathrooms, it had everything we needed for the price.
Located just far enough from the noisy center of Sayulita, it strikes a perfect balance. The hostel's central position is ideal for easy access to multiple beaches, restaurants, etc. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful, and the Wi-Fi connection is excellent. I highly recommend ITH Amazing Hostel.
Good kitchen facilities, clean dorms.
I only came for one night and stayed for 6!
