Experiencing the Santa Barbara Bowl
As one of the town’s most iconic establishments, the Santa Barbara Bowl is a top destination for concerts and events. Perched in the upper hills of Santa Barbara, the Bowl was built in 1936 and was originally designed to host the annual pageant of Old Spanish Days – Fiesta.
Since then, the Santa Barbara Bowl has seen legendary musicians like Bob Marley, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, and Steve Miller Band take the stage. The 1970s were especially prolific for the Bowl, with artists like Bruce Springsteen and Peter Frampton coming to play shows. Through the 1990s, many renovations were done to enhance the venue’s infrastructure. Food concession stands were added in the early 2000s, and the venue now features more than 4,500 seats. Today, it stands as a marvel and a must-see for music lovers.
