San Diego is known for not only its spectacular beaches and vibrant night life, but the city also hosts a number of awesome musical acts throughout the year. We’ve outlined some of the top concerts in San Diego this summer for you to check out!
To start, we suggest going to see Siddhartha, who is performing at the House of Blues in San Diego, on May 28th. Siddhartha is a rock musician out of Mexico who has released a handful of solo albums, and is formerly the drummer of the band Zoe. His eclectic style of music is definitely worth a listen! If you’re looking to dance, we recommend heading over to Nova SD, in San Diego, to see Matoma. The popular Norwegian DJ will be performing at Nova SD on June 10th, and doors open at 9:30 PM. Matoma has become popular for tracks like “All Night”, and “Old Thing Back” (ft. Ja Rule & Ralph Tresvant), and is an act you don’t want to miss! Note: this is a 21+ concert. For a more soulful sound, don’t miss out on the legendary Diana Ross when she comes to San Diego this summer. Diana Ross, known for her role as the lead singer of The Supremes, is an icon in the music industry, with numerous accolades as a recording artist. This is one show you don’t want to miss! She will be performing at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on June 11th. Tickets start at $135 and can be found here.
Another artist you don’t want to miss is John Legend! Also performing at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park in San Diego, John Legend will be playing on Friday, June 16th. If you’re not familiar, this R&B artist has established himself as one of the premier talents in the industry, and has worked with some of the top artists across different genres throughout the years. His warm, soulful sound is worth seeing in concert! Tickets can be found here.

One more interesting act to keep an eye on is Los Shadows. This Surf Dream Pop band is local to San Diego, and they are starting to emerge as a hot name to watch in the music scene. Los Shadows will be playing at the House of Blues, in the Voodoo Room, on Saturday June 17th. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Support a local San Diego artist and groove out at one of the more iconic venues in the city! Tickets can be found here.
Last but not least, don’t miss out on the Joshua Tree Spring Music Festival held in nearby Joshua Tree! From May 18-21, there will be live music, workshops and other community events at this unique celebration in the desert! Don’t miss bands like Balkan Bump, Galactic and The Last Internationale!
