With everything shut down and the world being in a state of panic, having friends and being surrounded by love is important. Having some buddies to do fun and COVID-friendly activities with is essential for getting through this time. So here are 5 way to meet people during COVID in San Diego:

Bumble BFF

BffDon’t get alarmed by the name. We know that Bumble is a dating app and we’re talking about homies on this post. However, Bumble has added two new features that some of you may not know about. Bumble BFF and Bumble Bizz.

Bumble BFF is just what it sounds like. Swiping, but for friends instead of romance.

On the profiles for Bumble BFF you can see what type of activities people enjoy, where they are from, and what things they are looking to do. This is an awesome alternative to having to just rely on “dating apps”. Go out there and swipe you a new friend.

Beach

Surf’s up!

The beaches are one of the hottest commodities in San Diego. There are over 22 beaches in San Diego and even more awesome people that love to hang out there.

Head on over to Sunset Cliffs and watch the most amazing sunset with some friends, or you can walk along the boardwalk and meet some new folks.

You can also find some good people at the piers taking pictures or playing soccer and volleyball in the sand. There are endless opportunities to meet people and have a great time at San Diego beaches.

Balboa Park

BbpBalboa Park is near the Hillcrest area of San Diego and it is AWESOME!

One thing that may really surprise people is how big it is. If you are just using your GPS or driving by, you may only see the outside which is a green area with a few benches that stretches a few feet long.

If you drive more and actually turn into the park and drive back, you will see a HUGE and expansive park with loads of things to do.

There are people walking, artist performing, painters painting, and some awesome venues that sell food. This is a great place to go if you already have a buddy or a place to check out if you want to meet some new people.

Skate Parks

With over 10 pro-level skate parks in the city, you’ll definitely be able to find some like-minded friend.

In San Diego, anything with wheels goes. The vibe is amazing and you will catch people on skateboards, long boards, roller blades, bike and a bunch of other things that’ll keep people on the go.

If you are a beginner or not the most accomplished rider, don’t worry. The city of San Diego is very open and wide. You will have plenty of room to practice and move at your own pace on the sidewalks or beaches.

Join a Hostel

Last but certainly not least, a great way to meet people during COVID is to join a hostel!
